Design & CAD Service · Sydney

3D models made from your ideas, sketches and parts

Our Sydney team turns ideas, sketches, photos and existing parts into 3D models for manufacturing. We guide you through the design process.

CAD stands for computer-aided design — the 3D file a printer, workshop or manufacturer builds from.

    The Production Pipeline

    How this service works

    01

    Have an Idea

A sketch, a concept, or just a few thoughts.

    02

    Consult Us

Free 15-minute consultation — we connect the dots in your design.

    03

    We Design It

Your idea becomes a production-ready 3D file, delivered to you.

    It Starts With an Idea

    Start With What You Have.

A scribble on the back of a napkin. A photo of a part you need to replace. A spec sheet, or a rough idea of the shape.

You don't need software, training or a finished design. Bring what you have and we turn it into a 3D model you can make things from.

Three Ways to Create a File

    Your Idea.
    Three Paths.

We choose the modelling method to suit your part, artwork or existing object.

    3D Sculpting

For artistic and organic shapes — sculpted forms, characters, decorative pieces and artwork.

    • Organic surfaces
    • Character design
    • Artistic commissions
    • Decorative elements
    Most Popular

    CAD Design

For dimensioned parts and assemblies — components that have to fit, mount and be manufactured.

    • Dimensioned modelling
    • Assembly design
    • Engineering drawings
    • Checks for manufacturing

    3D Scanning

For turning an existing object into an editable 3D model, so it can be reproduced or modified. Studio or on-site scanning.

    • Structured-light scanning
    • Point cloud processing
    • Reverse engineering
    • Quality inspection

    Already have a file?

We repair, clean up and convert existing 3D files for manufacturing — downloaded STL, scan mesh or client-supplied STEP. $165/hr + GST, billed in one-hour blocks. If your file is ready to make, go straight to printing.

    Case Study · SP-T1755

From pencil sketch to trophy model

Tilt Industrial Design commissioned the INDE.Awards trophy. Alexander Wong drew the concept in pencil.

We translated those sketches into the CAD model and printed the pattern. Canberra Glassworks cast the result in recycled glass.

    FAQ

    Common Questions

Can you work from a sketch or description?

Yes. Rough sketches, verbal descriptions, reference images, photos, or just an idea. We guide you through the process.

I have a broken part — what should I send?

Photos from several angles, the overall dimensions of the part, the dimensions of anything it fits into or bolts onto, and a description of how it should fit and work. If you can, bring the part itself to the studio.

What happens in the free consultation?

Fifteen minutes over Google Meet with one of our designers. We look at what you have, ask how the part or piece is used, then define the scope and quote.

How long does a typical design project take?

Simple parts: 2–5 business days. Complex assemblies: 1–3 weeks. Defined during the free consultation.

Do I own the intellectual property?

Yes. Full IP ownership transfers upon payment. All source files included. Manufacture anywhere.

What file formats do you deliver?

We deliver production-ready files in STEP, OBJ, STL and 3MF formats. Engineering drawings as PDF. Full IP ownership upon payment.

What is the difference between CAD and 3D sculpting?

CAD is dimensioned modelling for parts and assemblies. 3D sculpting is for organic, artistic forms. We offer both in-house.

Can you reverse-engineer an existing part?

Yes. 3D scanning, mesh cleanup, and production-ready CAD reconstruction.

Do you offer 3D scanning in Sydney?

Yes. Structured-light scanning at our Sydney studio. On-site within Sydney metro.
