ABS FAMILY
ASA
EngineeringUV-stable alternative to ABS. Ideal for outdoor use.

WHY USE ASA
ASA provides ABS-like mechanical properties with exceptional UV stability. Parts retain their color and strength even after prolonged sun exposure.
Outdoor applications, automotive trim, and UV-exposed functional parts.
PRINTING REFERENCE
How to Print ASA
The same STANDARD PRINT CO. reference values appear in the TDS download. They are starting points, not batch test results or a calibrated machine profile.
| Nozzle Temperature | 240-280°C |
|---|---|
| Bed Temperature | 90-100°C |
| Fan Speed | 0-30% |
| Print Speed | < 300 mm/s |
| Enclosure | Yes |
| Recovery drying after exposure | 80°C, 8h |
Validate with a calibration print and consult the printer, nozzle and build-surface guidance. For recovery drying, also check spool and dryer temperature limits.
Our filament is ready to print from an intact, sealed bag; no initial drying is needed. Reseal it in the foil bag with maintained desiccant between prints. Storage does not remove absorbed moisture.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common Questions About ASA
What is ASA best used for?
Outdoor applications, automotive trim, and UV-exposed functional parts.
Do I need an enclosed printer for ASA?
The ASA reference sheet calls for an enclosure. Check your printer setup and ventilation requirements.
Does ASA need drying before printing?
STANDARD PRINT CO. filament is ready to print from an intact, sealed bag; no initial drying is needed. Reseal it in the foil bag with maintained desiccant between prints. After moisture exposure, assess recovery drying separately. Storage does not remove absorbed moisture; moisture-sensitive materials may need protected feeding while printing.
What nozzle temperature should I use for ASA?
The ASA reference sheet lists 240-280°C. Use a suitable printer profile, check nozzle and build-surface compatibility, and calibrate for the part.
